This month, we’ve had the pleasure of working with the Bessey family and the Hearts for Ezra Foundation to raise awareness for spinal muscular atrophy (SMA).
The Besseys have been advocates of expanded carrier screening as well as SMA awareness and research since they lost their son Ezra in 2013.

At Counsyl, families like the Besseys inspire us every day and we are so proud to support them and the work they do at the Hearts for Ezra Foundation.
